The third entry in the Experimental Series, this sees the whisky finished in French-oak ice-wine casks from Canada, adding in layers of sweetness and spice, as well as a stack of candied fruit. The Cardhu distillery (from the Gaelic, ‘cardow’ meaning ‘black rock’) was founded by John Cumming in 1824 in the heart of Speyside. Using water from the clear springs of Mannoch Hill, he created a well-rounded, fragrant single malt which reflects the classic Speyside style.
