Embark on a culinary journey at Vini e Capricci on January 12th 2024 as we host a splendid dinner in tribute to Michele Chiarlo, who sadly passed away last November.

Not only was Michele Chiarlo a close friend of the Said family and the wider Vini e Capricci concept, but he was a leader in the exportation of fine Italian wine from the Piedmonte region.

Having founded the world-renowned Piedmonte winery that bears his name in 1956, Michele went on to be a true luminary, especially when it came to Barolo and Barbera varieties. Chiarlo’s ties with Vini e Capricci go back to the very beginnings of the venture, where we’ve even named our flagship Cantina after him and the company he founded.

Indulge in a sophisticated 6-course paired dinner, meticulously crafted to celebrate the renowned winemaker’s legacy. Each dish artfully complements Chiarlo’s exceptional wines, creating a harmonious symphony of flavours.

Beyond the gastronomic delights, your attendance will contribute to a noble cause. All proceeds from the event will be dedicated to supporting the Guatemala Foundation, a charitable organization committed to provide philanthropic and financial aid to the catholic mission run by Rev Fr Anton Grech in Guatemala through fund-generating events, projects and charitable work. One of its objectives is to promote social justice and community advancement by offering solidarity and sustainable projects to the poorest in Guatemala, with the aim of relieving poverty and suffering, among many others.

The event will also be attended by Michele’s son, Alberto, who will be travelling to Malta for the specific reason of the event itself. Alberto has been helping the company establish itself as a global brand since 1992 and is now running the company together with his brother, Stefano.
