Castello di Monsanto | Nemo | Cabernet Sauvignon | 75clBorn in the vineyard “Il Mulino” at 260 metres a.s.l., planted in 1976 with only Cabernet Sauvignon. After the vinification in steel, it ages for 18 months in oak barriques and ages another year in glass.

Castello di Monsanto | Chardonnay | 75clBorn in 1980 from a challenge of Fabrizio Bianchi to create a white wine of great character in an area which was not especially dedicated to it, this selection of Chardonnay from the Valdigallo vineyard, 3.50 hectares at an altitude of 260 metre a.s.l. exposed to the north-east, is vinified half in 5 hl French barrels and the other half in steel. Nose: Sweet stuff, toffees and vanilla ice cream up front, almost grain-like. Becomes increasingly honeyed. There's a little coastal influence here too, just hints of a sweet Caol Ila perhaps, with very restrained smoke.
Palate: Honeyed toasted oak, sappy wood, only a little pepper and smoke, apple turnovers and hints of lemon and lime Opal Fruits. Fennel seeds.
Finish: Drying and slightly less sweet, hints of spice and smoke.ABV: 45.8%€46.50Add to cart
