Tasting Notes

Pisano, Rio de los Pajaros Cabernet

Uruguay- Estate-grown by the Pisano family and aged in French oak for 5 months, this is an exciting value from an up-and-coming wine region. Displaying intense red fruits, notes of herbs and a touch of vanilla with a long finish. The perfect companion to grilled meats and ham.

Pisano, Rio de los Pajaros Torrontes

This is one of the most expressive versions of torrontés you are likely to encounter.
Pale-lemon yellow in color this wine has an aromatic, pleasantly-pungent nose of wild ripe summer green and yellow fruit as though it was the product of indigenous yeast fermentation which typically yields multiple layers of aroma complexity.
There are aromas of pear, just-ripened pineapple, guava, nectarine and lemon citrus.
On the palate the dry, medium-bodied torrontés is bright, lemon tart on the attack with most of the fruit suggested on the nose being more restrained in actual flavor.

Bernard Magrez, Casa Magrez Uruguay

Dark color with purplish-blue hints. Elegant, roasted nose with notes of coffee. In the mouth, the wine is full-flavored and well structured. An interesting finish with new aromas of wine-poached pear.
