The Winery of Good Hope

Chenin Blanc:

This example is a wonderfully lively, intense, fruity and beautifully balanced dry Chenin Blanc. Aromas of green apples and white peach invite the juicy, yet taut palate. A depth of fruit is what sets this wine apart. It shows great persistence of flavour and freshness that linger on the palate long after the wine has gone.

Pinotage:

Free-run juice only was used which displays red cherries, violets and a juicy palate, which finishes with balance, length, a touch of minerality and some really funky spice.

Cabernet Sauvignon-Merlot:

A characterful blend of classic varieties with aromas of blueberries fynbos. On the palate the wine expresses beautiful fruit concentration with a long, savoury finish.

Food

Tuma Langarola. Beppino Occelli

Langarola is a Langa tuma made from cow’s milk. Optimal cubed in summer salads and sliced on toasted homemade bread. Tuma Langarola goes well with young red wines.

Pecorino del Pastore. La Casearia Carpenedo

Most pecorinos are oily cheeses (about 45% fat) because ewes’ milk contains very high amounts of butterfat — one of the reasons this cheese is so scrumptious. When your Pecorino comes to room temperature, don’t be surprised if you see beads of oil on the cheese. The cheese’s oils, called “butterfat tears,” weep naturally and indicate the cheese is at the perfect temperature for eating. Pecorino is often used grated in pasta dishes. Serve with bold red wines. For a real treat, have it for dessert, laced with your favorite honey.

Mortadella Santa Rita. Renzini
