The name Gyokuro is often translated into Precious Dew or Jade Dew to recall its intense green color. The collection of the first two leaves and the shoots is carried out in spring, from bushes that are shaded twenty days before. It is made of fine pine needles, translucent and dark green in color. It is a tea that is traditionally offered to distinguished guests prepared in small porcelain teapots and served in small cups of the same material. It is a tea rich in antioxidants and one of the teas that contains the most L-Theanine, an amino acid that modulates the alpha waves of the brain, which induce "relaxation" and balance the action of caffeine, therefore a precious ally of health.
